CLASSICAL PILATES
The Perfect Balance

Traditional Classical Pilates is a systematic approach to physical and mental conditioning. There are elements of other disciplines that can be seen within the system, however the goal, philosophy and approach vary. For example, where physical therapy focuses on a specific acute injury, Pilates uses precise exercises to correct imbalances and improve body mechanics which may be the root cause of the injury and aid in the healing process and prevention in the future. Strength training works to build individual muscles, but often at the detriment of others, where Pilates focuses on the whole body, builds functional strength and hits the smaller, deeper muscles that support the movements of the body as a whole. Yoga improves flexibility and trains mental and spiritual well-being, and although Pilates’ approach is different, its ultimate goal is the same, however the. missing element there is the “corrective exercise” piece that Pilates offers. Through its practice, you will improve your strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, cardio endurance, create mental clarity and calmness, increase body awareness, relieve chronic stress patterns, sharpen concentration and attention, relax the mind, and elevate the spirit.

Classical Pilates is a true mind-body-spirit practice that will enhance your overall health and well-being.

Pilates develops the body uniformly, corrects posture, restores vitality, invigorates the mind and elevates the spirit.
